Project overview
This project, PulsePlay, focuses on gamifying the existing defibrillator registry website, hjartstartarregistret.se, to create an engaging and educational experience. The visual concept for PulsePlay intentionally differs from the original identity to capture the attention of a younger, game-interested audience, including elementary/high school students, individuals with reading difficulties, and gaming enthusiasts.
My roll

My role in this project was primarily as a graphic designer. I independently designed the PulsePlay logo in Adobe Illustrator. The logo is a playful and youthful twist on the original defibrillator registry logo, combining health and CPR elements with a modern, colorful design using blue, pink, and beige hues. It aims to attract young people to learn about cardiac arrest and CPR in an engaging way.
The visual language blends playful and serious elements, using a broader color palette, illustrations, and less focus on a minimalistic, serious tone to invite new users. The typeface “Arbuckle” for “Pulse” conveys movement and energy, while “CC Pixel Arcade” for “Play” adds a retro, game-inspired feel
Mockups

The project also includes a persona, Emilia Karlsson, a 14-year-old who enjoys creative and curious experiences, highlighting the need for a game that is simple, fun, visually appealing, and offers rewards like badges or points. The overall mission is to create a playful and rewarding visual concept that increases awareness of the registry and promotes learning about CPR in an entertaining and meaningful way.
